This time Billy was expecting the visit. It had been little over 24 hours since Lopes and his monkey had wrecked the flat but he had managed to clear up the mess and even salvage some of his plants. Once again Detective Hunt accompanied DI Young and Lopes. DI Young explained the purpose of the visit.

‘Right Billy, first off. The information you gave us about Saturday was spot on which is good, now I know I can trust you as far as that is concerned.’

‘Well thank you.’ Billy words stank of sarcasm.

‘Now we need to level with each other.’ He paused as Billy lit up a cigarette. ‘You see Billy, like lopes here I have now come to the conclusion that you do in fact know more about the lads involved here than you are currently letting on. However, I am sure you have worked out that I am in a difficult situation. I will not take you for a mug Billy, if you do the same for me. We both know that if I were to do what Lopes suggests and take you down to London then your face, and our operation, would be broken. Agreed?’ Billy filled his cheeks with smoke then blew it in the direction of Lopes.

‘Ah sorry.’ He waited for Young to continue.

‘It would seem that your main use to me is in obtaining information via the phone and then setting up your, shall we say, ’friends’. Now once again you may ask how I intend to do that. Yes?’ Once again Billy remained unmoved.

‘As you know already we can not trace your contact’s mobile, but we can record all the calls that come into, and go out from this flat. Hunt here is going to install a permanent recording device for me. What I want you to do is call me whenever your contact phones in. Is that clear?’ Billy just nodded his acknowledgement of the request.

‘Now Billy one last thing. You may well think you have me by the balls at this moment in time but just to make you think again I would like you to take a look at this.’ DI Young handed Billy a small leaflet. On the paper was printed a photograph of Billy along with his name, address and phone number. At the very top above the picture were the words.
